Fall in Evergreen

I know it’s still summertime in the Rockies, but it’s not too early to start thinking about a colorful Colorado fall vacation or getaway! Mountain Bounty Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to enjoy the beauty of the Rockies and take advantage of the many activities in the area during these gorgeous perfect-weather months.

One of the first things many people think about in the fall in Colorado is the changing of the Aspen trees. It is spectacular to see the groves of Aspens turn from deep green to yellow to orange and sometimes amber-red, which stand in stark contrast to the millions of deep green pine trees that cover the mountains. Some of the best drives to see the colors are just up the road from Mountain Bounty Bed and Breakfast and September is prime viewing time!

Drive #1 – The short drive up I-70 to Georgetown to access Guanella pass is spectacular! You can also park and hike at several stops along the way to see some of the highest mountain peaks in the state. Click here for details

Drive #2 – Another great trip is the drive up Mount Evans. This is right out of Evergreen, and within 30 minutes you are driving on the highest paved road in North America! The scenery from the 14,000 foot elevation is spectacular! You can take hikes around Echo Lake at the base of Mount Evans and shop at Echo Lake Lodge, built in 1926. There are also places to hike on your way to the top of the mountain. Summit Lake is a beautiful, pristine mountain lake and the hike around it reveals the Chicago Lakes below. 1. Sheryl and Terry are the nicest hosts you will ever meet. The grounds are beautiful, inviting, and peaceful all in one! The breakfast was delicious and carried us well into the day. Our room had an excellent mountain view, complete with a comfy bed , decor, and pillows.
